If DMM made more carabiners that locked on a ring like the Revolver

I've been thinking about a better solution for attachment of certain devices.

I think a great solution and alternative would be to have more carabiners that locked onto a ring like the current Revolver from DMM.

I emailed them with the suggestion. If you agree, perhaps we could all nudge them a little into making them for us.

DMM

Please make more carabiners that lock onto a ring like the Revolver does!

Ideally something where the carabiner would be captured at the bottom on the bridge ring and devices would be captured on the opposite end without being able to fall over the locking gate or down the spine, keeping proper orientation of both.

This would make an excellent connection for devices to the Kinisi.

While the thought was for an ideal solution for the Spider Jack 2, Akimbo and Akimbo 2 in MRS. Needing to attach the rope termination with a spacer next to the device connection on the carabiner top. I believe that the ability to have different versions of a carabiner that locks onto a ring like the revolver will be beneficial for many other applications.

I could see at least three versions of this.

Revolver bottom and Rhino style top for devices like the Akimbo “one” MRS, Spiderjack 2 and various hitch climber type setups.

Revolver bottom with an O-shaped top, a larger horn and large locking mechanism (like the ANSI version or perhaps the Durolock gate, although I don't have one of those to test whether the devices will fit over it), which would keep devices like the Lockjack, Spider Jack 3, Blackbird, RIG, Akimbo 2 (in SRS), Throttle, various hitch climber setups and (if possible) the Reflex (for those who can't or don't wish to have the swivel directly on their bridge for some reason), in proper orientation, as well as others.

Revolver bottom and Rhino shaped top with a larger horn and large locking mechanism, which would properly orient the Akimbo 2 in MRS as well as being able to work with other devices.

I could imagine many other possibilities including retrievable midline redirects where two different style carabiners are locked onto rings on either end of a sling. One being large enough to pass a knot and the other catching the knot. Like the current Revolver on one side and something with a Revolver style bottom with a larger top on the other. I could also see this to attach two or more carabiners together with a ring between them that is captured in both. Which could be any of the aforementioned versions.

If for some reason the manufacturing process didn't make sense for the larger horn I suppose a rubber keeper or other such orientation device could be used to keep the device from falling down the spine although the horn would be ideal. And if utilizing the upper tending point on the Akimbo 2 and putting a orientation grommet in the attachment point could allow for the smaller version to work for both the Akimbo and Akimbo 2 in MRS as well as the Spiderjack 2 and various hitch climber setups if it didn't make sense to make the larger gate and larger horn Rhino style.
