It's only a drunk person's excuse if they are penning it while they are drunk.
If they are writing when they are not drunk, it is not a drunk person's excuse.
I was watching a special on the Discovery Channel a couple of months ago, showing a scan of a person's brain, while intoxicated. Not just any person, but a certain person.
The research and scan showed that some people who have drank in the past, when drinking again, basically lack the potential for reasonable self-control in some cases.
Like installing a hair pin trigger in their head with the potential to be set-off.
Could be completely unrelated to this scenerio here, but it was interesting to see what people can do to their brains that remains residually for a long time.
