Fluffy, Fluffy, Fluffy.......always make sure your climbing line is secured. I usally gather about 20 feet and tie an alpine butterfly under that. Then biner that to yourself or around a near by limb before releasing my climbing line from its tip. Glad you are okay and had a cell signal.
 
Monkeylove! I edited my original post to include the disclaimer that this didn't actually happen. The idea stemmed from the fact that I did almost drop my rope once because I didn't tie a knot on both ends like you suggested. I get a lot of first time tree climbers visiting my channel so I thought this would be an amusing way to teach them to never climb without a backup. Haha. I guess my weird sense of humor may have been lost in translation :loco:
