Husqvarna T536 Li XP tophandle chainsaw

I'm so jealous of you guys in 'husqvarna country' using this saw. I really can't wait for us petrol heads in the states to figure out how nice batteries saws are. Using the Stihl one has really changed how i think about and use chainsaws. I no longer view them as a smelly nuisance that require way too much maintenance and are too heavy to pull around the tree for a pruning job.

Really looking hard at this saw and the 110v batteries at honey bro. I hope they come this way before I have to pull the trigger and order from across the pond.

What’s your impression of this saw from handling it at the expo, anyone? Planned release for USA? Intended cost for saw? High capacity batt. cost?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for the great info. and videos from “treestyler” and others. Helps planning saw purchases knowing this will be available one day.

Merle,

I like the "lil" saw! Actually it cuts well and is anything, but the "daddy can I help you" saw I often describe it as. For pruning, especially out of a lift, I think it would be great.

We removed the remainder of the demo tree with it Saturday at the Expo no problems with cut size or battery life.

In discussing with Husqvarna, the problem with sales in the states is price point. A saw, with charger and extra battery would be well over $1000.00 USD. I think that is high for the average user, Husqvarna seems to think so to.

What I am surprised by is that you cannot special order it from a dealer if you can justify the cost. Which in some cases may be the case.

It is a great tool and I look forward to being able to buy one at an affordable/justifiable price. Right now for me it would be a pricy toy.

Over here it costs the equivalent of 1000 USD, and this little "zero fuel 100% husqvarna" saw is allready part of the toolbox for many arborist over here !

The price you've paid is quickly forgotten once you get to experience this easy to use push the button power pack ;-)

And for all the arborist fooling around with the chains....the stihl 1.1 mm chain fits on it when you take off the plate above the sproket ;-) saws even better !

Treestyler,

I am with you. If my work load justified it I would buy it in a heart beat. A gas saw is much more cost effective for me at this point. That may/will change in time.

Interesting to see the prices compare on either side of the pond.

The battery technology is a step forward that will become more affordable as fuel prices rise.

Great info. and perspective thanks Tony and treestyler. When VCR’s first came out they went to corporations for training purposes at $250,000 per copy, when they stopped selling they were $49 each. Flat screen TV’s are said to be selling at Walmart soon for $89 for a 32 in. screen.

I don’t need to have one today but, it’s nice to know they will be workably priced soon. For the right job maybe very soon. Some savy tree sales people could design a whole marketing plan around “whisper chainsaws.”

The price seems to be a hard headed item for arborist....

I know lots of climbers that don't want to invest in a simple pantin, but drive a new business car every tree years and complain about elbow problems from working the ropes......

I know a lot of people investing in al sorts of smartphones, laptops, dvd players and giant tv screens...but when they have to invest in materials making the daily job easier they have to think 3 years about it.....

Don't spend your monney stupid, be smart and spend it where you can make your daily job easier and more efficient. That will sure help you work longer and with more fun in the trees. It's a lot of monney but when you have enough jobs for it it will def be worth the inevestment.

If you don't have small trees to prune, a small chipper that needs some debranching every now and then before the wood properly fits, clients that have small trees that needs to be cut down in summer when all the neighbours are enjoying the sun and don't want to be aggitated with the noise of a two stroke....and much more reasons but perhaps the most important...if you def want to inhale exhaust fumes and pull start a saw for every branch...don't buy it !

Dont get me wrong, I don't want to sell this little bugger, there's absoluetly nothing in it for me.
I just personally think a lot of arborist do themselves short and keep on spending a lot of energy while there are more efficient ways to get the job done....

But hey.....thats only my 2 cents

Climb safe and think smart !

Any one know if a European wall adaptor will work? I see the adaptos for sale all over the internet, with good reviews. I don't see why we, Yanks, couldn't buy the Li XP with an adaptor.

Rumor has it they will be available late spring/ summer.... Can't wait to get my mits on the thing :)

One more thing to think about when you buy one, both the stihl and huskey batteries fit in all their battery products, shears, blowers, power pole saws, etc. it ends up being very affordable when you get more useable products

My eyes are open for one. I've been resisting buying a dedicated canopy chainsaw but this would certainly find a home in the stable. I love the idea of a quiet, light, powerful saw for the early half of removals. Imagine being able to speak to your groundie AS you're cutting a piece with complicated rigging!?

Sold.

If you think that's the best part of the bargain, just wait till you find out what the two best 'things' are.
No fuel fumes killing your brain and no more three hundred times a day jerking on the starter cord.
To me the last one is the best part.

Check this out. New stuff arriving soon!
'old' 3 Amps next to the new 4.2 Amps.
