OK so I have built all kinds of stuff for my company from grapple trucks to fire trucks that hold arial lifts in the back. what I have not done yet is build A very large chip truck. Does anybody know somebody that manufactures double axle 20 foot plus size boxes for chips? I’m have not able to been to locate one. I bought a 2018 F750 in Washington DC a couple months ago with a 16 foot chip Box and that was the biggest one I could find on the market. Anyone got any suggestions?

Build it off a tandem or tri axle dump truck. We had built both years ago when I worked up north. Not much difference in capacity between the tandem and tri but depends on your bridge/weight laws. We literally built a steel structure with 2x6 sides and 3/4” ply roof with 4 hooks for lifting off. The one gate we left as a traditional dump truck, the other they welded side hinges and pinned it closed for a swing gate. Both held about 30 yards at a shot. We didn’t need to cut the gates for the chipper chute but I’ve seen that done on other trucks. On off angles we would tip the body up slightly to help a bit.

I've seen tractor trailers with live beds delivering mulch for playgrounds and such, maybe that's what you need. No dump, conveyor.

For what your after I would suggest buying a cab and chassis, and making your own chip dump.
Mine started out as a cab and chassis, and I bought a flatbed to build the chip dump. It was 20' long. I chopped mine down to 14' to fit my frame without to much overhang. I didn't want too long of a box dragging the load across the ground. Find yourself a long flatbed and build your wall height to achieve your capacity. Of course you dont want to be top heavy ....

Good luck! 53’ trailers can only hold 100 yards of mulch and be within weight limits. Also the truck would be so long and heavy it would have to stay on the road all the time. I know employees suck but a second 28 yarder and driver gives you many more options.
I’m reading that 53’ers hold 130 to 140cy

I think they can but may put you over weight. We’ve got a 16’ box with no tool boxes that holds 30, a couple of old asplundh 14’s and a mancab. Also a 53’ semi trailer. Our bc 2100 can’t quite fill it completely but scale in the mid 90’s on a regular basis. They also run it on a light tractor ( single set of rears).
I’m sure someone will custom build for you. Call Southco and see what they say

The whole tree chipping operations for forestry and/or land clearing that deliver to a mill (or ship for export) pull onto a ramp that tips up the whole semi. Here is one video I found:

Yeah we unhook the tractor for that.
There is a local company that uses it as well because the hoist went out on their chip truck years ago and claims it’s to much expense to fix

I believe southco made one and only one huge chip truck a few years ago. There was a picture of it on there web site for some time was gone last I looked. It was on a International tandem chassis painted dark green. I think it was around 35 ft long. I remember calculating the capacity at about 55 yards or so. The thing was a beast. I called southco and inquired, at the time they didn't want to build any more due to concerns about the hoist. They were willing to entertain cutting 5 foot off though. I couldn't understand why they couldn't get a stronger hoist. I have seen some dumping 50' trailers of rock so I know it can be done. Might be worth a call. If I remember right the price seemed reasonable . Just remember if you do get a BEASTLY truck we want pictures!!

I lucked out last winter and snatched up a CCC dump truck off eBay with an 18' bed holds 30+ yards . I'll get some pictures. Love that truck but as others have said with the big trucks you have to stay on the asphalt
