How I mounted TNT\'s BMG on my trailer

Yep, TNT's BMG in AUS is OK. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just made a vid of it and how I mounted it.

Tomorrow will be it's first day in the field for a work out unless my first job holds up or it rains (ha!)

about 1.45mins and 8.5mb wmv

Also I attached a large pic 658kb of what we did so if you want to copy or get ideas you can see the detail.

I'm envious. I've got a bobcat 7753 but I can hardly ever get it in the yards I work.

Nice video.

You become an expert in removing fences and gaining neibs access I bet coz whenever I'm bidding I carry a tape measure assessing access.

I explain to the customer that they'll get a better deal if I can get a machine in to load, a machine that saves backs and can lift 250kg+ and grind stumps.

Some-times we remove fences to neibs and load that way, bribe the neibs with beer if neccessary.

I need 1m to get in. But now having a grab that can carry long ways is certainly gonna help.

I just leave my BMG on the machine during transport. After all it IS used on everyjob. Well amost anyway.

Tiny trailer!

It's 8'x5' and the sides are around 4'6" high plus it's a tandem (dual wheels). It cubes out to around 4.5m3 which is a fair whack. I'll get some vid today of how I load and unload it with logs.

The most I have loaded in it is 2300kg's, about 5000lbs

The rule here on trailers is wierd. A tandem trailer cannot exceed 2000kg total when loaded, that includes the weight of the trailer. So having a larger trailer cuts down the load capacity as the trailer weighs more.

Yes, that time I was overloaded and if I got busted would have got a big fine ... but seldom do you get weighed by Transport Cops.

I needed the BMG mounted somewhere as the Kanga sits in the trailer and 90% of the time has the stump grinder head attached to it.

Ekka,

How about a pic (vid /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif) of whats towing the trailer? Maybe some specs...like horsepower numbers...gas/deisel?

Re: How I mounted TNT\'s BMG on my trailer

Ha

An extra cab Mazda 2.6litre 4 cyclinder petrol, 5 speed manual 4wd.

The Trailer weighs 450kg, the Kanga + stump grinder + BMG = another 1200kg.

So I tow around 1700Kg every day. Plus all my stuff in the ute and that'd have to be 200kg of crap.

That little ute has done 265,ooo kms now, I bought it with 100k on the clock, so it's earned it's keep and it's only a 4 cyclinder 2600cc .... not bad, but fuel is $1.35 litre here.

Just shows how you dont need 7 litre V8's to git her done /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
