Home brew knee ascender

My first attempt at splicing anything other than three strand. I followed Samson's directions for a whoopie sling, and improvised where I saw fit since it's not life supporting and it obviously needed to be more compact. Still have a few other modifications and additions obviously. This is a mock up for right now. Fit and finish will likely vary from this state as I test and tweak.

Oh yeah, as if it weren't obvious, it's 3/8" Tenex Tec.


Going to add bungee and probably stiffen it up as well. Have a few ideas, just have to go track down some bungee. Critique as you see fit.

I've been using one I made exactly like that for a while now. I used the 1/4 amsteel rigging line just because it's about the perfect size. Works like a dream and stores nicely as well. Good job

I'll add that the 1/4 inch line requires less bury length as well making it a bit more adjustable
