Hi Ranger boom question?

Taking headache rack off to paint my self and sending truck to macco for cab. Since the rack has the boom cradle on it would it be save to drive to paint shop with boom not supported.

I would think that would put a ton of stress on the lower piston and the rotator and gear without the support up and down and said to side. If it wasn't far you might strap it side to side and maybe put a block under it from the deck just to prevent damage to the packing and/or the gears.

The bearing in the rotational gear doesn't like the bumpy ride. As suggested you could strap it for side to side with a brace for the up and down.
