Help with footlocking

I've desisted to give a climbing competition a try again. I went to one 8 years ago, and did well with everything but foot locking. So this year I been teaching myself to foot lock. I have the basic concept down. The problem I'm having is when I start to go faster sometime my prusik loop gets caught up in my saddle, which stops the advance of the prusik.

At comps lots of climbers tuck their prusik cord into their shirt via the neck then to attachment point on the harness. This will keep the cord from getting in the way.

my quick cheap fix for sideloading/flopping biners when footlocking is a bike inner tube tied to the appropriate length loop with a dog leash snap on it to clip to the top biner. put it around your neck and it keeps the whole mess standing and loaded correctly. i've also seen the footlock cord tied to saddle suspenders and to hardhat chin strap. be creative, you'll find something!

I don't know why, but I picture a hilarious facial expression to go along with that question.

Are you using a saddle with two d-rings hanging low? That's what I learned off, and just switching to a Master II (for example, cuz the middle d-ring is high above belly button)made a huge difference.
