A good company I know in Maryland took on a guy this winter as a climber. He claimed he wasn't getting the hours from his current employer. He had many years as a climber and at one time was an ISA Cert Arborist he said.

It turns out this climber screws people and companies all the time and runs away from stuff.

One night, one of the top company employees got a call late at night, from this climber. (He had been working for them for a few months and it was looking like he might work out).

Well, he was in jail that night for domestic assult on his girlfriend. (second time in his history by the way)

He was calling to ask someone to help bail him out of jail.

Well, the company organized a bail bond company to get him out, and paid $500 to bail him out and signed the bail bond companys papers. The bail bond was for $5000.

Shane, (the piece of crap climbers name), said he would work off the $500 and would deal with the charges.

Well, shortly after getting out, he didn't show up for work and didn't return phone calls.

He went to New York for a while they found out, then likely in Pennsylvania now. They know the town or area too.

Anyway, the tree company found out that they are now held liable for the $5000!!!!! If he is not found.

The bail bond company is looking for him.

Now there is a $500

reward for info leading to his capture.

The tree company is my brother's company, TRTimberline.

This SOB is screwing them when they tried to help him.

It turns out, this guy has been doing stuff like this for years. He has screwed friends, co-workers and even his Dad out of money. Asks for help, then never pays back.

TRTimberline needs help finding him.

The bail bond company is putting up the reward.

Tarry(the nice girl that bailed him out) with TRTimberline keeps saying she needs to get on the Buzz and post this information, but hasn't gotten around to it.

I will tell her I started it and she can post the contact information for the reward and such.

She was going to try to post today anyway, but I thought I might start it and be more real and raw about this guy.

All this guy knows is tree work and works as a climber, so I'm sure he has been working under the table for a tree company where ever he is.

So, it's done now..... Go ahead Tarry with the guys full name, all the info you know about where he might be and the reward contact information.

theXman is right. This guy is a piece of crap and I would not have been as real or raw about it. So...thank you theXman for getting me started.
This guys name is Shane Manner. Date of birth 1/30/1970. He has worked for ClearTree and Davey Tree Expert here in Maryland and Bartlett Tree Expert in PA. He was last seen in Glen Rock, PA and the bonds man said he also may be in New Freedom or Stewartstown.
The bondsman, Brian , is offering a $500.00 reward for information on this guy, no questions asked. Brians number is 410-420-3044. Please call him or respond to us if you have any leads. Also please tell all tree companies you know in these areas to be on the look out for this scumbag. He is not worth 2 cents, and especially not the $5000 bail!
This is the kind of crap that gives tree workers and climbers a bad rep. He needs to be put in his place.(that would be jail)
So, please, keep your eyes and ears open.
Thanks!

That's where he was before you bailed him out. Why would you do that after he beat up a girl?

thank you all.

I really think with the network of treebuzz, this guy should be able to be found.

We'll see. I or Tarry will let you know what happens.

this guy is good at making you feel like he wants to turn his life around and be a good person.

he convinces people to help him out financially. He convinced a Davey employee to loan him his entire paycheck once and never paid him back a dime...

People like him prey on the goodness of others.

That chaps my a$$ these kind of guys are around to make us hard working folk look bad. He'll get it back sooner or later. I belive what gose comes back. I also think your friend is awesome for trying to help and like wise what gose comes back!

Ole Shane must have seen him coming from a mile off. I find it hard to believe that no one noticed any red flags prior to him actually screwing them over. Its not hard to see, just need to open your eyes.

I hope your bro finds him.

Tarry, don't you want to update this with the little things that have happened?

Also, if the time is running out, why don't you at TRT match the bounty with another $500.

If the original $500 has 4 bounty companies looking for him, just imagine what another $500 will do!

Actually theXman, there IS now a $1000.00 reward for information leading to Shanes arrest. Some of the bounty hunters are thinking he may be in Maryland or PA. One had a lead in Oregon.
So please, if you have heard anything about Shane, reply here or call Brian at 410-420-3044.

!!!!! $1000.00 !!!!!

Thanks!

Hopefully the tree company can save their $5000.

Maybe the threat alone of losing their money, will teach the lesson about just how foolish they were.

They basically put "fuel" in the workers tanks so to speak.

Offering to help with bail over an assault, is somewhat comparable to handing money to beggers at highway ramp stoplights. The beggars are there because people are fueling their tanks: giving them money.

The best the company can hope for is that the threat of loss is the only spanking, and they are spared from real expense.

The climber is probably just going to amount to an expense for a public defender. Who knows how big or small his punishment may be.

Wow, that's kinda like when you leave your keys in your vehicle, then someone steals the vehicle and...

The vehicle owner almost gets more blame than the theif.

Or when you don't lock your doors to your vechicle as you run in the store and a theif takes your stereo system.

Some people act like it's the vehicle owner's fault.

Some people are like, "well, you deserved it, you didn't lock the car, what do you expect".

I don't see things this way.

It was a charge of domestic assult. How were they to know if it was true? 50% or more of those things are false?

I guess they figured after talking to the Shane guy, he sounded believable and they needed their climber back and why not bail him out and let him get back to work. I'm sure they would not have done it if they thought there was a chance he would run.

So, you never hand money to homeless people or beggars? Don't you think there are a few of them out there that are in that situation from events out of their control and with you're help it might put a meal in their belly and help them to carry on?

Not even close to us leaving keys in a vehicle.

And sounds like this guy has a history.

In light of percentages, the percentages say that it's equally as likely the guy commited a crime and to let him crawl to his own family or something for bail money.

"how do they know it was true?"

That's a no-brainer for me. I even work for some policeman in Beaverton area. If they or other of the police busted someone here and locked them up, I'd consider it a safer bet to go with their word for the moement if it boiled down to laying my money on the line.

With a few exceptions, I don't find them locking people up for no cause. In most cases, people don't get tossed in the slammer for no reason.

Your reply unviels one step further how guys like this vanishing climber take advantage of the gullible.

Sure must be the pits though for the like 1 in 30 or whatever, who's actions are really spotless. Of course that's not this guy. Now the odds are in favor of two infractions, not merely one. So much for the percentages with this dude.

Yeah man I think its cool to help people in need-beggar or whatever. Some people are real geniune and really need help.Ive seen people help other people out like that and that started friggin crying like crazy.Ive seen others with so much shame and embarrasment on there face because they had to swallow there pride and ask for help.I guess you never been down and out man -lucky you.Yeah some times people are running game or whatever but you got to be smart enough to see thru that ,its probably easier if you walked a mile in there shoes then you could identify whos really not a scam.Heck buy im a friggin hamburger or something, sometimes people are just hungry and need a hand.

Well it ain't because they are all like you.

Most posters on here don't have a really low emotional-breaking threshold.

If you lean toward name-calling, even implied, over the mere exchange of text and opinions, a mirror might become the tool of the moment.

If guessing is your gig, go for it.

In my case, if I was down and out, I never really had to beg. People could see at my low points that some kind of direction was being aimed for.

I was pretty much referring to the beggar mentality that hits the same highway ramp, on an ongoing basis. Where begging is a job, not a means toward growth. Or the lady who drags a dog outside a Petsmart to gather sympathy from pet owners. The bulk of the beggars in our area are not genuinely looking for real help. In fact, I've stopped to offer work to a couple. Like a ride to wash our vehicles to earn a few bucks and put some labor in their day. They hmmm'd and hawed and made excuses.

Now ... we still come back to the bail-jumper that this topic is about.
