Ground protection mats

dont know what your thinking (As I have never seen/used special ground protection mats)

but 3/4 plywood should work unless your bombing massive chunks out

Gap Power Equipment sells them, they’re an Alturnamat dealer. Their service is top notch and their prices aren’t bad either. They’ll ship to wherever you are.

We buy ours from them, they give quantity discounts so the more you buy at once they lower the price goes.

Sweet, thanks for the link. I'll give them my $5K.

Ricks Equipment had a good price on them and shipped right away for us. I would not buy equipment from them but the mats are brand new. Our mats keep going and going. My friend sunk a 45k lb senabogen in a back yard on a job and two of my 230 dollar mats got it out. Deformed like a rolled pretsel but did the job and bounced right back. Plywood sucks, don't let any cheap bastard tell you different.

Good mats are incredibly durable, and quite capable. We put a 38k JLG lift in a wooded back yard this morning in ankle deep mud. Same story, our Alturnamats looked like tacos afterwards, but they’ll flatten right out and look like new by the morning. Hose off the mud when they get back to the shop, rack them on the trucks, and we’re good to go.

These are mats for equipment to drive on, not to put down to drop wood onto.

LOVE alturnamats, I'll never go back to plywood again. That and chipping brush, fuck that shit!
I do see some guys use grapple trucks instead of chipping. I like chippng. There's always someone close by on Chipdrop that wants the mulch. My set-up with articulating loader and powered rotating grapple to feed the chipper is working well for me. No damage to lawns with the wide tires.
