Gloves in Texas?!?!

I'm visiting my Mom and brother Jim in Dallas for a few days. We stopped at Home Depot to get some nuts and washers for a cabling job. At the checkout counter I saw a rack of single layer fleece gloves for $5.16.

Last winter my last pair of fleece gloves wore out and I couldn't find a pair for less than $30!'!!

I'm going home with souvenirs...three pairs...instead of another t shirt.

Who says you can't sell toothpicks to lumberjacks?!

Tom - hey man, hope you're doin' good and enjoying stuff!!

I got your phone message and sure - email me (if you can) a pic of the beadwork (or whatever it might be) and I'll try with Gayle - to quantify it. She knows her stuff but there's also a lot of non-indian work out there that often "blows-me-away" with it's beauty and design. There are Federal laws however - that are enforced - on stuff SOLD and represented as "authentic" native work. Regional and tribal designs are generally identifiable - if old (Anishinabe and Cree are floral, Navaho is angular, and Haida, etc. are animistic).

Like the post says - I'm healing and getting advice from the absolute best at this whole thing - it might work and my future might not be so bad (swimming, etc.) but then it might not and I can never be what I was - to that, a big 'so what?!?' I'm here now, and that alone was one of my prayers while first hospitalized - I know enough to ask for things in smaller and more possible increments!! Also the "god" I talk to isn't the same one that lets us war and kill each other and destroy the planet and send us to hell...it's loving presence we all harbor inside each of our beings...it's a resource we all can call on yet often don't - for fear of offending the big white bearded guy sitting on the cloud with a giant spear of lightning ready to strike us dead if we question his presence and powers.

Be good, as you are and continue to be and even though you're driving a cop car, you're a pretty good guy and friend to many.
