When I test my splices I tie my two dogs together tug o war style in the back yard. Then I get out the cat I rescued with the Cross Shot, throw it in the mix, and see if my splice holds together. If it does I can then take it to my extended family's farm and test with larger animals. I usually skip the chickens,and goats and such. I go for the bigger 300lb hogs or the cattle. Now that there can be some fun stuff.

Hogs can destroy about anything, if they get pissed off enough. Sounds like good times. I think a gorilla would be better, though. They can climb on it, as well as rip stuff to bits. Hard as hell to teach pigs to climb... or sing, even.

So, if you were on a cat rescue, and you got the kitty, but you slip and fall a few feet, melting your hitch cord. So, you lanyard in, and whoa! You forgot your spare hitch cord. Would it be bad form just to use stopper knots and a Distel hitch with the cat's tail to continue your descent?

Hey guys, this is my first response to a post on here... In fact its my first time back on a forum in several years lol. I run a girth hitch with 3/8ths tenex (single carrier) on my omni and i just got done doing equipment checks. After a year of use (and my omni block having a bearing failure) the tenex passes visual inspection.

That sounds like /thread to me. $3 sling lasts a year and passes gear check. The square edges are fine for hollow braid girths.

Not entirely sure what your trying to say but if your saying that its light duty you're right. i only use it for static loads or light rigging. If im going big i have have options depending on desired effect. Right tool for the right job.

I was saying that the attachment method seems to have shown its validity.
I would have questioned the squared edges with a girth, but if the sling made it a year, I'd be willing to run it.

I have noted that tenex is more durable than i had ever expected it to be. I remember when i had first seen it and thinking "this junk wont last a week befor i destroy it". I have been repeatedly impressed by it.
