Picked this baby up the other day, my first 200t. All it needs is a new carb kit, it'll turn over and run but chokes out with the throttle down.

While I'm doing the carb is there any must do modification that I should apply to really bring it to life? Already got a sugi lightweight bar on order, what about chain recommendations?

Any advice would be great, really want this thing to scream.

Z'sTrees is right. If the spark screen is plugged up the saw will choke out when you gun it. So that is one of the first things to check if the saw is losing power. If the spark screen is plugged up you can clean it with a wire brush. If it is really bad you may have to really scrub at it.

Easier way to clean screen. Hold it with a vise grip and heat it with a torch till its cherry red. Just don't do it around anything flammable.

Pull the spark arrester, remove the screen and put the carrier slide back in. Jet it accordingly. Next, and this is going to sound funny, file the back of each tooth up to the " guide "line. It removes a bunch of mass from the chain and let's it spool up faster. The other advantage is it helps to mulch up any sawdust that try's to recycle through the chain cover. Don't worry about the life of the chain being reduced, the chain will wear out long before you can sharpen that far anyway.
