Games, competitions, and levity at work

Serf Life

Been here much more than a while
Location
Maine Island
Stuff to add lightness and enjoyment to the work day.
-See how close to end of rope one can grab when clearing a line.
-Landing logs flat outside of the 1/5th rule
-Guessing balance point on logs when moving with machines, or limbs when rigging (deceptive leaf weight...)
-The quality pun

What else?

Probably read about it here ....but get the client in a a prank of the boss or salesman isn't on site but is coming later:
Cut a stump low so it still has the root flare, set it elsewhere in the yard, scatter saw dust (or just cut another inch off for the dust) and have the client complain that an extra tree was removed.

Being a climber high in an oak it's fun to try to hit coworkers with acorns... especially this time of year - they are falling anyhow so it's not unexpected to be hit with an acorn. But 4 close ones in a row starts to raise suspicions!

Not as cool as @Bendroctanus feeding the chipper from aloft, but we load brush into trailer and on the occasion we can park close enough, award "points" for landing pieces.

I’ve been known to fell a tree, cut about a foot of the stump and rotate the face/hinge 90 to 180 degrees to make it look like it went over sideways or backwards..
