Fascinating

It’s got me thinking about implications in everyday things, like tree work for us and maybe gardening. When I worked in Spokane, we had to be so careful when removing Ponderosa’s in the growing season because cutting on them would bring in Pine beetles. There were a few stands we had to go back to take the rest of the trees down because the beetles killed them.

When taking down any other trees, it seems that they probably all release warning signals to everything around. I wonder how that may affect growing, pruning, etc. Also, can pruning induce these signals? Many questions, I have.
