Eye and eye prusiks

Do you mean what kind of knots are being used for friction hitches and how long the split tail is depending on knot choice? Nice to see someone else from RI..do you climb?

Yes. I'm trying to figure out the most commonly used friction hitches are and what length ropes work best for the most common ones.

I climb a little but just for fun and testing rope and other products. I work for a rope company and so work with many arborists. Where in RI are you.

Lately I've been using a VT/Icicle combo with a "grizzly" spliced Ocean Polyester 10mm split tail. I'm not exactly sure how long it is but probably about 30-34". I'm in Lincoln... How about yourself?

I like using the Distel for my friction hitch tied with 2 double fishermans knots about 32-34" in length in Bee-Line chord.

I use it for my SRT and as my split-tail.

A blakes hitch! I thought i was old school for using a swabisch. (i tried the:icicle, vt etc. but felt comfy w/ swabisch- holds well on crane rmvls, the others had a tendency to "ghost ride"

I use the blakes hitch, but have been exp. with the VT. Just learned how to body thrust with the VT. Got that info from a thread at treeworld.
