Experienced contract climber Portland Oregon

Hi all,

Figured since this forum is here I should go ahead and use it to shamelessly promote myself ;) Since the beginning of the new year things have been a bit slow, and I am keen to work with new people and diversify my list of clients for the coming year.

My name is Will, and I'm a contract climber based in Portland. I've got 13 years of experience as a working tree climber and just shy of 4 years as a contract climber. I'm an ISA certified arborist, tree worker/climber specialist and TRAQ tree risk assessor.

I've got all of my own climbing, rigging and cutting gear including both GCRS and Hobbs lowering devices. I'm licensed, bonded and insured, and work to all relevant OSHA and ANSI standards.

Over the years I've worked with and for some of the top arborists in the PNW, California and several locations overseas, and I love working with other dedicated professionals who care about trees and tree work.

Below are some cool pics of me doing tree work. If you'd like to reach out, message me here or find the contact page on my website below.

Cheers!
Will Koomjian

Looks like a carving in the last one, if so how’d it turn out?

Yeah it's a wildlife snag, and it basically turned out like it looks in the photo. Quite a challenge to keep lower branches on the tree when you're rigging everything down, but they add visual interest to the snag and are great perches for birds.

Below is another more recent snag I created out of a dead western white pine. I post a lot of snag photos on my instagram page; @thelifearborealIMG_7812.webp

Good luck Will! By next year I may be living around Portland myself, if so I’d like to get involved in the local Arborist community if there is one. Apologies for the derail and it sounds to me like you will be an asset to practically any company who hires you

Right on, yeah we just had the annual Portland TCC here which is one of the best regional comps around. The arb community here is welcoming and full of good folks!
