Don't brake your Gecko's

Don\'t brake your Gecko\'s

If you have a pair of Gecko climbing spikes take good care of them. The other day I left mine in what turned out to be a bad spot. A piece of deadwood fell from the crane pick and landed on them braking the left fiberglass upper pad holder. I called the place I purchased them from and they said they only sell them in pairs and they cost $227. Yes $227 for an upper pad.

Re: Don\'t brake your Gecko\'s

That's why I didn't buy the gecko's $200. plus for pads.
that's crazy! You know it wouldn't be that hard to make your own fiberglass pad holders you could even make them fit perfect. wrap your leg with a ace bandage as thick as the padding would be then wrap with fiberglass mesh then cote with the epoxy, cut that of with shears back behind you're leg , cut them the shape you want or just like the gecko pads with a dremel , lay more fiberglass mesh over and around the pad after you shape it I would lay that layer vertical, you might want to do another layer after that depends on how thick the mesh is just use the broken gecko pad for a reference, then find some dens foam cut to shape glue in. But that sounds like a headache SO! I just went with the titanium buckinghams with aluminum pads
they would still break if logs are dropped on them but only cost $72.00 to replace.
From WesSpur that is. Just a idea.
