Like how you rigged the wood up hill. Only critique at frame 1:50 mid tie made the butt come back at you, kind of the groundies fault also, I would have just butt tied.

Agreed, I had a bit of sloppy cutting but it was mid tied and held a bit tight to keep from battering a neighbor's oak. Definitely could have been done better though! I've been purposefully putting in clips that aren't just the highlight reel where everything went smooth.

I appreciate the honest response. I am just not a fan of the mid tie because the butt usually tries to run you down unless you put a notch and hinge it to the side. I get the need to tie it out further to lessen the drop to avoid obstacles, but make the cut near the rope then the butt doesn't come in on you. Groundie kinda blew it. I really like these conversations where we can break down the fine details with other pros who understand.

Wondering about facing your hold-back rigging point to the side or back of the spar... more distance preserved to lessen the chance of beating the keeper tree.

Also, if both ropes had more more of mid-ties, maybe the middle of the log would have been the impact surface, instead of an edge, IF it got too far... Just stacking odds...
