Disease of Western Hemlock

Looks Ganoderma-ish but there's a lot of conks out there.

Try treerot.com and use the search function to search by tree types and location of the conks. Great site by Luley.

Keeping in mind that a single photograph of a single fruiting body is a pretty sketchy basis for identification:
The defining field characteristic of Fomitopsis pinicola (the red-belt polypore) is indeed the red belt or outer margin of the bracket. True, young specimens may have it as yellow or orange and old, old specimens might have it as rusty brick colored, but I don't see that here.
Annosum root rot...maybe, but I expect to see effused-reflexed patches as well as the dimidiate brackets. More likely the latter than the former.
Could be another Fomitopsis or maybe Phellinus. I don't have enough info. Marlinspiker has it best, IMHO.
