Dead Ash, Spiders and 75 ton crane

Re: Dead Ash, Spiders & and 75 ton crane

Excellent vid! I like that you included some climbing and rigging, not just cutting, even more would be a plus! Looks like the Origger pad was squashing down a bit. That ash was pretty dead, nice job on the smooth picks. Lots of fine looking equipment parked down there in the street!

Nice work Jeremy. Good 'balanced' rigging.
How do you like working with hollow braid slings?
I saw that they were on a shackle set in the hook.

Question: What are the regs about working over 3 phase primaries? In Illinois, we have to keep all crane parts 10' away, plus the energized lines have to be either de-energized or rubber booted, or both.

Cory , Yes, the outrigger pad looked squashed down a bit. We laid down two alturnamats before the cribbing. They bowed on each end as we set the rigger down.

MattyD , thanks. Yes they are Tenex (tec) slings.

LivingHigh , NO! they are not rock shoes. They are Also mountaineering boots.

Tod K, Thanks man.

Norm Hall, Thanks! Yes, I love working with the hollow braided slings. The 3 phase primaries that I was working over had been completely severed from the rest of the grid. the electric company had a crew on each end waiting to restore power to the lines.

Wiz, it was a blast working with you in Toledo!!!!!!

SuperK, That was a 362xp.

Nice work. Looks like a real pro helped out with the vid production.
Loved hanging with ya for a few days. Sucks it had to end. I hope I can come back in March bro. TCI rules
You are an amazing tree worker. I hate to say it but...you da man. Bastid

Nice cuts and picks. Very controlled. Be sure to wrap your thump though

I've got a question that might seem irelevant but: why do you use sometimes a cow hitch and sometimes a clove hitch on the same pick???? Just curious...

No rhyme or reason... I like the cow hitch the most, but I like to use the clove as well.

To keep it interesting for the ground crew.
