There are many other options I would think for this application… maybe not.

More of an exercise for the splices as well. But might be cool. @Muggs recent video of a controlled speed line setup was pretty cool. IMG_0917.jpeg

Knot blocked speedline line through the ring and a rope tied to the piece and then brought through the pulley and to a portawrap at base or in canopy locked off. Release once piece is off. Not sure of exact procedures. But in my head it works

Just the first thoughts brainstorming here. No bad ideas in brainstorming

I'm not quite following your thinking, but I think you may be over thinking it. I would feel a lot better having the speedline on a running bowline that can be moved down very easily to each cut, and the rigging ring or block on a sling with the control line like any standard blocking down. Use a beefy sling with a block or fat steel biner to connect to the speedline, or like Patrick showed, a ring with haul back string. And then re tie the speed line each time. You may have a great design though, maybe draw out your plan? I would love to see how you envision it.

Here's an 8 lb shackle setup, hang slings off the big bottom clevis

If you tie an alpine in the control let 10-20’ from the bitter end this can double as a flying tag.
I’ll even do this with standard lowering, midline running bowline, when the or tail is close enough to the ground a groundie can snag it and aid in landing it.
