I was ready to spend 2500$ on eartecs. The way i did my helmet coms through ropetek, i can buy almost ten sets of thr ropeteks. Ropteks weigh nothing, can link your phone, can link mulitple users, maybe five or six. Sound clear as talking to someone next to you. Been using them for 1.5-2 years on the same set in all weather. No issues. Its a no brainer.
I was not impressed at all seeing the Eartecs at your crane seminar Mark. Way too expensive and bulky.the newest Sena system is only as thick a a biner and can be integrated into the helmet. I have run four at a time without a problem.
Yes the sena is a good system , light , helmet mounted , but if you run a bigger crew during a crane job someone is left out . I see the pro and cons to both the best is to try both .
The Sena smh10r is great and really easy to integrate into any helmet, except for the boom mic. I've found it best to tape it to the helmet strap. Maximum of 4 devices connected but it can also be synced to a common 2way radio system.
