So many questions and no detailsWow. I would very much like to know if this lift has had the recommended structural update completed or not.
Does the upgrade fix the issue in question?I received the pictures of the failure of this incident. The failure of the lift is located in the same area as other failures also where cmc sent a letter to inspect and they would fix it I believe….This needs to stop. I would avoid this specific lift. Not worth the risk. Im fortunate enough to survive from this same failure. Condolences to his family.![]()

What is the background on these machines?
Overloaded?
Rolled?
Rigging/ Craning with the machine?
Full- strength cut and chucking (dynamically loading the basket/ boom)?
I think the cut and chuck thing could be a consideration at play while using one of these lifts…..weight of operator, then add a swinging limb, or piece of chunk wood then throwing it…. I personally have ZERO experience on one, but they just don’t look sure footed or stout in my opinion. Hell I get butterflies when I’ve got our bucket truck in certain positions. What is the background on these machines?

I think so.Are all the failures on the same model, same design?
I think so.
CMC should be sending their clients brand new booms (re-engineered).
The right thing and survival for whom. This is why manufacturers have product liability insurance and why we pay such outrageous prices for equipment. CMC needs to step up and own this.I think they’d go under from that. Perhaps they are trying to hold on. There’s a fine line between doing the right thing and survival.
