Clogger denim in hot weather?

I'm in search of a new pair of chain saw pants for climbing and general use, I was pretty happy with my first pair of husqvarna technical pants but the quality seems to have dropped a lot between the purchase of my first pair and my second. Right now the top contenders are looking like the clogger zero, sip canopy air, and pfanner gladiator ventilation. I would love to have a tougher all around fabric though and the denims seem like they would provide that, that being said they don't have ventilation and in the summer here I'm often working in the high 90s to about 101 when it gets hotter than that I usually opt to come back and finish the next morning, for multiple reasons, anyone have experience with the clogger denim in the heat and how do they compare to other pants with vents.

I'm on my second pair of Zeros and really like them, though it doesn't get nearly as hot in my area as yours.

Not to derail the thread, but I don't understand the whole denim look. If I saw someone wearing those, I'd just assume (obviously wrongly) they didn't have any saw protection on at all, and may have other unsafe work practices. I mean, we don't all need to dress like Safety-Man-Power-Rangers in all the newest looking, high tech stuff, but still.

I don't really care about the denim look however if it's a denim like fabric it would be nice to have something more resistant to tearing cause ripping a 300+ dollar pair of pants the first day sucks.

Absolutely. For what its worth, my Clogger Ascends and Zeros have both been very durable. I wear them every day and work them very hard.
We buy Zeros for the whole crew here, and find them to hold up quite well also. It’s rare someone tears them, they seem to last for at least a full year of hard use.

I totally rock the Power Rangers look. The more loud colours the better. :bailando:

Thanks for the info everyone, how's the fit? Pretty true to size, I'm 6'2 180 with about a 33" waist was thinking small long with the calf protection. Normally with jeans I'm a 32 inseam but I wear my climbing pants a little bigger than my jeans so the waist is above my saddle.

Small will probably fit you, if I’m thinking correctly. Give Ray a call at Gap Arborist Supply; he knows those pants well and hasn’t steered me wrong on a single pair yet for the guys here.

I'm 6' and 150-155... 32" waist, 32" inseem... Actually 31x31 fit perfectly but never can find them.. XS - S both fit just fine, but the cut is designed to be worn low on the hips.. The seam in the ass will ride in the crack otherwise, both sizes do it but the XS a little worse.. Their ascend pants are great, and dont do this. Also much more durable, cool enough for coastal PNW 11 months out of the year.

Saw pants don't mean poor work practices. There is no connection.

I wore my saw pants for some reason the other day. Way more distracting than Arborwear while climbing. No doubt.

Poor work practices means poor work practices.

Anyone can wear PPE.

Some people really, really, really need it because of poor work practices. Other people, its a layer of protection.

I wear my seatbelt. I also drive defensively, avoid risky driving conditions, etc.

@southsoundtree why were they more distracting, my pants don't bother me at all when I'm climbing unless they fit really badly or were incredibly hot i don't see how it would really make much of a difference over my other pants.

My saw pants are Husqvarna, over 10 years old. Newer materials are surely better.

They are bulky and hot compared to Arborwear Tech II pants.
