Cleaning hitch cord

Some of my hitch cords are pretty dirty and have some minor glazing. Any thought on a good way to clean them? I was thinking just warm water with a little laundry detergent and a toothbrush.

Sounds about right. Maybe a little scrubbing with a scotch brite pad. Don’t get too frugal though, maybe just replace it and use the old one for less critical applications like progress capture on MA.

I've successfully washed hitch cords with unscented Dr. Bronners soap in a bucket for hand washing. I've also used a delicate laundry bag that zips up to place the cords in then put them in the washing machine for a cycle using appropriate soap. Just be sure you don't attempting to wash them in a washer right after a whites load with bleach or include the hitch cords with a load of your best dress clothes.

Jonny makes a good point, hitch cords are cheap, replace them often when in doubt.
Here I am thinking hitch cords are kinda spendy….. (for such a disposable item)
