Chipper knives

Anyone know if American cutting edge , Simonds or say stock bandit makes better knives? American cutting edge seems to have good prices, I wonder if the metals are equal? My bandit dealer no longer a bandit dealer so looking for new source for knives. Prices are all over the place online. If most knives are more or less equal Ill buy the cheapest obviously.

I’ve found their knives to be good quality. Been using them for a few years now.

American edge has good knives, very good chance that Wesspur has them as well. I order mine through wesspur typically. I order replacement hardware through McMaster Carr. I change hardware every other time I rotate.

I got an email saying that Bandit dealers are running a special- buy a set of knives at regular price, get a second set 10% off. Not super generous, but thought it was worth a mention.

I use American Cutting Edge. I’m happy with the knives. The nuts that came with the set I bought were lacking. Instead of the steel thread insert that comes on the brand new nuts, they had a nylon insert. I had one foul up and had to cut it off. Just went back to the original nuts.
