So, the brand new clutch on my chipper failed today (mechanic must have botched the install). I have an open credit app right now anyways, and figured if I am going to get a newer (used) chipper I should get an upgraded chip truck to match.

I see good looking trucks from the south all over, but I have no idea how to buy a vehicle without seeing it. There's no way I can fly out to look at things.

Anyone have advice on this front? The used market in Minnesota is, well, rusty or brand new. I don't want garbage but I can't swing a brand new truck today.

Just be careful with all the flooding that happened
I know 2 different people that end up with flooded equipment that had clean titles
Might be worth a flight or hire a third party for inspection

I bought a truck 1800 miles away site unseen that cost more than my house and I was shitting myself. Talk about faith in God almighty, I’m so dumb! Happened to get lucky so Far so good ! But I highly second this advice after that ordeal!
 
Get a 3 way dump unimog… sorry couldn’t help.

Sorry to hear about the chipper clutch, I’m very curious on if it was just a part swap how that could be messed up. They are pretty simple units and the only hard part is keyways and lots less lining up belt pulleys.

It hadn't been right since he put it in. He had my equipment a bit longer than planned. My auto feed got messed up too during his repair.

You could have two different shops do it or do some research in their local market and I wouldn’t think a shop wouldn’t have any part of lying about a report or the word would get out.
Google reviews usually tells the truth about a business.
A dealership would probably be your best bet .
For example if it was a International truck I would have a International dealership look at it
