We are looking to order some chainsaw pants for our guys. Anybody out there have any likes or dislikes as far as Stihl vs. Husqvarna vs. S.I.P or any other brands.

Thanks, Steve

Neither brand. I find them uncomfortable in the tree and usually the crotch splits. So far Pfanners have proven to be better for climbing.

Norm-

Does Stihl stock those stateside?

Chris-

Are there vendors that stock SIPS stateside?

Treeh'er-

Are Pfanners a chainsaw pant? I am not familiar with that brand?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Unfortunately, none that I know of. I bought my first pair a few years ago when Sherrill still sold them. I bought another pair last year here on TreeBay.

I have a suspicion that the suspender buttons might create some real uncomfortable pressure points if worn while climbing in a saddle. Otherwise, they look decent for ground work. I'm tall enough that I really look for the availability of long length options, and so far, the Phanner are the best fit for me.

I have worn both the sips and the pfanners and I like the pfanners hands down over the sips. The sips I have are the 6.1s. They are heavier and hotter and bulkier. They do not fit as snug to your body and the knees are not as well articulated so in any kind of warmer weather the tops of my knees would get worn spots on them by the end of the day. No problems with the pfanners other than the same issue of still being hot in any temp over freezing.

X2..The suspender buttons can make a climb painful if they get right on the hip bone. Avoid them unless you want to wear suspenders.

Which sounds kinky to Brits (They call them braces. Suspenders are what sexy stockings are attached to).

BRACES???? I had those in high school! What do Brits call orthodontic mouth pieces?

Just to stay on the thread, I wonder if Arborwear will put out a chainsaw climbing pant. I dig my Ascenders, even though the Phanners are a slightly better fit.

Brits... wearing orthodontic braces? Don't you watch TV? Haven't you seen their teeth?
