This is my lanyard for my big saws, made from New England 3-strand and a Mongoose biner.

see attachment.

I used to buy lanyards, always make my own these days. Much cheaper.

i know i dont, i have a non breakin lanyard, every once in a while ill get a saw snatcher, one time so bad that the chain broke off of my saw but i refused to let go (for those of you wondering, yes, im tough as nails, jk) so sometimes i think that maybe that a break away would be a good idea but honestly i havent had a saw snatcher in quite a while, usually only when i have a brand new chain do i get close

Do we really want our saws to breakaway?

These breakaway lanyards aren't designed for big saws, and the MS200T's metal attachment point will fail anyway if the saw gets jammed in a heavy piece.

That's just another thing to love about the 200. ;)

However, I would remove it when using a bigger saw. I haven't allowed a chunk to catch my saw in over a decade, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen tomorrow.

all other saws are not attached to me in any way while I am cutting.

The MS660 in the pic below cost me £700.00(US$1400) of my own hard earned cash - it stays attached to me at all times(when I'm using it in the tree).

Same here. If in doubt I just clip the saw into the tree.

That's the SAFE way to do it!

You can't put a price on safety.

I have some evidence to the contrary.
