bucket truck or climb?????

I have many years experience with the lift , and climbing

When I do an estimate, I mark down if I think it would be more productive to climb or use a lift

This is about 50/50

many good bucket trees, and always ones that are better to climb

I also pay someone to operate a bucket... Id rather climb a tree than climb a bucket , lol

now a crane would be fun to operate...

I had more "fun" working on the wire side of the crane...as an operator, no matter what happens, everything is considered your fault no matter what. Can be tough at times also dealing with the flow of the job...climbers want it bigger...groundies want it manageable in the time frame till the next one comes down. = big enough chipper and ground equipment to move weight around.

it will be some time before im set up like that ,

but i do see your point about how the different ends want it differently

gotta do what safest and smartest and everyone should be good with that

If you're not on the same page the crew leader or site supervisor should be reading out loud so everyone gets there

It's not about what either end wants, it's what you want. You want picks that aren't too big for your chart and are big enough to keep up efficiency and yet not to big to slow things down by overloading the ground crew or so big you can't get the pick down.

In our area if I can get a machine to a tree without any damage to lawns ,property etc we use it.thats why we run lots of iron to let employees work smart not hard.whether its a crane a bucket or a mini forestry I would say 75% is mechanically done.
Do you guys have a spider lift? If you are looking for one, please visitour website and see for yourself. Here is a nice picture provided by one of our customers...
