Are you sure the one from Blue Ox is a 16 strand? I thought it was a 12. Looks a lot like Samson Blue Streak which is a 16.Does anyone know anything about blue ox ropes? They seem to have a big variety of ropes and their arborist lines seem identical to other “name brand” arborist ropes, namely the blue and white Samson 16 strand.
I’d never heard of them until recently.
I got that same rope back around then as well. Used it on the job a little when I was still doing DRT. Then it was a rec climb rope, got lent to a friend and returned years later to pull a barn down with. It served many purposes.Yes. I have a 12 strand climbing rope (1/2 inch x 150 ft) and rigging rope from Blue Ox. I bough them back in 2016 and they’re still in pretty decent shape. I don’t really climb with the climbing rope much but will use it for miscellaneous things like a tag line, etc. and I still rig with the rigging rope quite frequently.
You know what I think it as actually a 12 strand. I’ve been using it and wondering how it’s so supple and knot friendly thinking it was a poor quality 16 strand or something . Looks almost identical to Samson arbormaster blue streak. Silly me.Are you sure the one from Blue Ox is a 16 strand? I thought it was a 12. Looks a lot like Samson Blue Streak which is a 16.
