Big Ugly Mascot

Is anyone else bothered by the big burly logger-looking guy that is the image representing us?
Most arborists that i have met are fairly small in stature, including myself. So why is this big lug, wearing almost no PPE at all, the icon of our industry?

Side note: Who wears plaid wool shirts anymore. C'mon, super cliche.

I do. They keep you warm and I think they are classic.

Ok. I don't wear them. Any more. These days.

Tech layers are the way to go. We are in the 21st century now.

I would rather not be wrapped in plastic. Silk and wool are the way to go.

I agree that wool socks and wool sweater in winter beats all - but thats overtop the tech layers and under the outer layer or layers for me. And silk would be a better base layer than synthetic. Wish I could find some I can afford. Anyone know any good sources?

I guess this is a complete derail, but it's a useful one.

Plastic wrap on people is kind of kinky, er, I mean stinky.
