Running into side-dee/hip-bone interference with this one too, Rich?

Not that. Just seems that when all my weight is on the saddle the whole saddle-belt-assembly sometimes messes with my pants belt!

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

i had the same problem. I have aleviated it by using a soft fabric belt with a small flat buckle. Much more comfortable.

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

Try using suspenders, they really help improve the fit of the saddle.

Any info you can share on where to get suspenders that actually fit the BII? havent found what i was looking for, as in I have not seen any good ways the suspenders would be attached. /forum/images/graemlins/aaa.gif

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

Sherrill sells suspenders which fit the BII. You can make a pair to fit the saddle. Buy a pair of suspenders and tie them to the saddle using accessory cord. I use the pricey suspenders from Sherrill Tree.

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

I'm thinking about buying a Butterfly II saddle and am curious about other climbers opinions on it. The removable bridge idea sounds perfect and it's pretty light weight, but is it durable... and most importantly: do the leg straps pinch?! I have a Buckingham Versatile that has a very poor design, the the strap connectors are both on the inside of the legs/thighs (a small detail I overlooked when purchasing). I'm also interested in the Glide from Buckingham, but does anyone know if it's bridge can be removed? I see that they sell a replacement bridge for it but when inspecting it I just don't see how it can come off and back on.

Also a good idea might be to put one of those nice high stength, durable cord bridges made for the Glide on a Butterfly saddle, if you were worried about the strength of the factory bridge as some people seem to be.

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

My B'Fly II is just above my hips but like others have said it does tend to creep or float up esp. during akward positions. As far as the Glide goes i work with a couple of guys that use the glide everyday and they love it the only thing i don't like about it is that it's alittle heavier than the B'Fly II. Leg straps don't really creep unless their not adjusted properly. As far as replacing the bridge on the glide i do believe that you can replace it.

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

I use the arborwear belt...solved all my belt problems. I saw the glide at a TCIA convention and if i remember correctly, in order to remove the bridge, the front part of the saddle has to be undone, a little more work Than I would like for a bridge replacement. Please correct if i am wrong. The shackles are nice on the BII...but make sure they are always inspected before a climb. If you replace..remeber the locktight stuff.

Re: B\'fly II Waist Height!!

The bridge on the glide is actually reasonably easy to replace. While you have the bridge off you can make your own "Gliderfly or Butterglide" by simply adding a couple of aluminum rings (28mm) before you put the bridge back on.
I definitely feel more comfortable with the bridge girthed on vs. the bow shackle attachment of the butterfly, but thats just me. I know many people who dislike the glide due to where your weight hangs on the inside of the thighs, however, for me the glide (after adjusting the thing properly) felt far more comfortable than the butterfly. With the addition of suspenders the additional weight of the glide is a non issue.
