Best pants for summer....?

I've been wearing rei brand convertible pants for a few years now and for me they work great. Breathable and dry fast. Gusseted legs for movement. And you can zip em down when your raking or doing shrubs or even going fishing after work! They get a few snags in em but hey just more breathability. 60 bucks a year is a decent price too. I get light gray colored ones and they hardly show staining except for sap but wash clean almost every time.

Goodwill Thrift Store, $5/pair regular price for all pants, often on sale even cheaper. Got 3 pair the other week for $12. And at that price, when you rip 'em or dump bar oil all over, just pitch 'em!

2 guys said it before, Dickies or similar, breath fairly well, dry quickly. Same for most Khakis, whatever the brand. Way, waaaay cooler than jeans or Carharts, but I'm always amazed how many guys I see dragging brush in jeans.

I have been wearing Wrangler Ironwear pants. Something like $28.00 from Farm and Fleet. Ripstop material, lightweight and tough. They have side carpenter pockets. Like Tom commented they do show stains but that means I've been working

I picked up Union Bay Mens Travel Chinos at Costco for $20 a pair. Nylon/spandex composition, allows a full range of motion. I've got 3 pair, and going back for more. I figure I'll dedicate a few pair to production tasks, and try to keep a few others for consultations and presentations. Compared to other technical pants, by the time you've paid $50 to become a Costco member, buying 3 pair of pants at $20, vs $45 on Amazon will just about cover the membership fee.

Another bonus, since I'm built for comfort, rather than speed, they've got waist sizes up to 40".

My favorite lately are Columbia Silver Creek. Cheaper than AW, even with corporate pricing, stretchy, seem to be holding up pretty decent and are crazy light weight and dry quickly. I don't own any AW pants, but do own SIP pants, and hate them right now that it's hot. I wash these Columbias almost nightly, and wear them almost daily, and love them. I've tried carhartts, khakis, SIPs, and these, these are by far my favorites.

I just bought some pants at an Oakley outlet store. I ended up buying every pair they had in my size. Lots of stretch, and a gusseted crotch. They were normally $80 but were marked half off then another half off that in the clearance section. Seem like really nice pants for climbing. I'll wear em on pruning days. They feel like they will hold up well too but only time will tell. I'll stick to my gladiator vents on the removal days, they are hot but I feel better wearing them.

I truly have come to enjoy the Duluth trading co pants. They are super durable and available in a super wide variety of sizes. Their new fire hose flex ones are super nice. They make each one with a variety of pocket arrangements.
