Beal Escaper: Interesting retrieval mechanism

Beal has a new retrievable anchor device intended for escape / emergency single-rope rappel.

Seems to be a bit of elastic and a thin sling permanently woven into a VT-ish hitch that a split tail passes through.

The statement "keep under tension" during the repel is crucial. So using it as top anchor for working the tree doesn't seem like a good ideas as you load and unload your line throughout working the tree.

Otherwise the loading and unloading seem like the same process as unleashing/releasing this device.

Just saw something on this, and thought it was new, but of course the buzz knew about it months ago. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on using this as a choking anchor for working down a spar
