My queen elizabeth hedge maple started oozing sap and bark cracking up on the lower 2 feet of the trunk 2 weeks ago. I suspected borers and did a safari soil injection. Now I diffinetly see frass and mature bark beetles (IPS?) a caught a specimen to I.D. but thought I would ask If others had any ideas what would be emerging this time of year? Treatment options? and I have many maple trees so I hope they don't go from tree to tree!!! This hedge maple is newly planted so I wouldn't be to upset to remove it if needed.

Any advise?

Even worse, I am finding that ambrosia beetle may be the culprit. Nasty little bastards. It was oozing and all crackled like the ambrosia fungus would create and from what I have read, they do emerge at this time. But I didn't see the toothpick shaped frass? Probably not much hope for this tree, S#!!t
