. Shame alot of the ninnies couldn't have this thought in mind "So ridiculously played up for TV" about that show.

It is WAY pumped up for tv. I spent 31/2 years in the logwoods right out of highschool as a cutter. Most of it is factual just a little exaggerated. Like yes you are losing money when a truck gets stuck but it happens on a regular basis. It's one of the things that happens. Now when you can see 2" of air between the fifthwheel and the truck is buried to the frame with 2 skidders with 34,000lb winches pulling it breaking 3/4 steel cable then its a big deal. None of that was made up by the way.
Logging is exciting at times but the show tries to make it that way all the time.
I saw a couple episodes of heli loggers that show was far better in my opinion.

Idk why they took the Heli-logger portion of the show off the air. They were far more competant than those sorry a** swamp loggers they have on the show. Maybe they went under. Last season they said that they were the last Heli Loggers around and were struggling as a business.

I caught heli loggers a couple times, I think it blew ax men away. Is that show still on?

No Discovery Channel didn't pick up season 2 from what I heard.

I miss Dwayne off of the Phil crew, and the heli logging was a great additive to the show.S&S logging though they are the comical part of the show. I do like Shellby he seems to have a purpose and well has a history where he is. Great sence of humor too. All in all I do see the play up of these crews and well TV is TV. Hey Mark, Tom how about a real aborist show hmmmmm couple companies working up till the TCIAs, throw in some usefull info and some commercials for arborists ( infringement rights through

We need to show the public what real arborists are and what we do. Plenty of drama without having to create it. Have a company that will send someone to the TCC. We could also have an S&S hack crew for contrast.

We get the ISA and TCIA to put some funds up. We could get an independent production company put it together and Treebuzz could co-produce it. We could have the first season on the internet. I bet Stihl, Vermeer, Sherrill and others would be interested.

Oh the possibilities...I need to have my people call some people.

I do like AxMen, but I just watched a GREAT show on the West Coast loggers on the HD-Theatre channel. Its a night and day difference between it and AxMen.. The show is called RISK TAKERS, if anyone sees it its worth watching. Very imformative, and drama free. It documents loggers and their technique, daily routine, and family life at home. They basicaly follow these guys around all night and day describing every little detail such as; hazards on the job, sharpening chains at home in preparation for the next day, and they actually go step by step as they fell trees explaining everything. Axmen could learn a thing or two from this show, no greenhorn bs, no yelling and cursing, no "competition" for a seat in the yarder, better yet? No Aqua logging!!! Just the brotherhood and bond the men share and their passion for the job...
