Anyone using 2 Positioner 2's as your lanyard? Double lanyard, 2 in 1 set up deal? Used one at another companies and just wanted to see the set up again if anyone has it......Thanks!

I use one and a hitch on the opposite end to create a DEDA lanyard which sounds like what your referring to but with two mechanicals. The spliced Sirius was my original build for my lanyard, after a mishap with my saw I rebuilt the same system with the drenaline.Screenshot_20191013-094418_Photos.webpScreenshot_20191013-094400_Photos.webp

Thank you. One positioner, ART or hitch on each hip and then the "slack" from behind each tender is just there as it were...? I got about 30' of the drenaline also and going to put it together today....thanks again.

Mine is around 20 feet and at times feels too long with it under my feet, and at times barely long enough when using both ends. I prefer both sides of mine on my left side, I will often move them from upper Dee to lower Dee and to my bridge, all depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

I tried DEDA lanyard a while back, 30 foot 1/2” xtc16. It was just too much rope for me to manage and most of the time I was on a climbing line as well and only used half the lanyard.
I ended up cutting the lanyard in half. If I need to I’ll bring a second lanyard or second climbing line with me.
But that’s just me, it’s a personal decision and you may love it.

I feel the same about 20ft when using both ends MRS. I try to SRT one side (which isn't always applicable) & MRS the other.

I'd probably feel the same about 30ft of 1/2” anything..
Its nice in the hands, but the weight/management is a headache & a half, even with a ditty bag.

My latest attempt was a 30ft 11mm km3/textile setup. It seems much lighter & more manageable than my other experiments, but it's knotted terminations so I'm not exactly thrilled about it & haven't really used it in a work condition.

If the BOLA is everything it's cracked up to be, I'd much rather have that & use it on a sewn 11mm km3/htp. SRT + MRS with self advancement. I feel I should have just bought one to begin with instead of progressing through all the other mechanicals that don't have the features of the BOLA.

It was pretty heavy with steel snaps. I had steel Ds on saddle at the time so wanted steel hardware. Had 2 Gibbs and later 1 Gibbs 1 hitch. The weight wasn’t really the issue though.
Was really beautiful work spliced by Nick A. I felt bad cutting it, but I was fed up with loops of slack hanging all over. A long ass tail or a rope hanging straight down is fine with me, but dragging loops behind me pisses me off.

What do you guys think is the best rope for the AP2? I just bought my first on a lava lanyard

Jehinten,

What termination knots do you have on that DrenaLINE lanyard? They look funky in the pic.

Your right, they do look a little funky. I believe I was tying a scaffold knot (it's been a little while since that pic was taken so I can't be 100% sure on my intent) but ended up tying it like a traditional hangman's knot but with less wraps. In the picture it hadn't been set hard yet which makes them look funky, it's nice and tight now.

Great! As the knot master Clifford Ashley so aptly said ( paraphrasing here) “ A knot is either tied exactly correct or terribly wrong”

You would be surprised how often I see the grapvine/scaffold/ fisherman’s tied wrong as a termination knot.

How we do anything is how we do everything. Cannot escape it and thanks for checking and correcting.

Tony
