Are there any Kiwis in the house?! I want to work in New Zealand!

Hello!

My name is Elena (aka Sweaty Betty) and I would love nothing more than to go to New Zealand during our wet Pacific Northwest winter and do some badass exotic tree work during my stay. I have a couple wonderful friends who live in Auckland that I am dying to visit, but I couldn't possibly justify traveling to the other side of the world without staying for a good long while. I'm thinking 4-6 months. Obviously, I'll need to work in order to make that happen. Turns out, arborists are on the short list for work visas to New Zealand. Lucky me! All I need is some advice on which companies are respectable and would be cool to work for (and which to avoid).

Any and all advice regarding working in New Zealand would be supremely appreciated. I am an ISA certified arborist and a solid climber. I am eager to work with new tree species in a different climate and learn from the best Kiwi arborists in the business!

Yours truly,

Elena

Get a hold of Anita, I think she spent some time in NZ... FYI I met you at BIOM, by the fire when the rocks were dug.

Will, thank you so much for the recommendation! ProClimb looks like an incredible company to work for! Too bad, I'm dirty 32... I hope they'll see I'm worth the effort. ;) See you at the Portland Comp, no doubt!
