Anyone watching axe men this year?

Saw some of the new season Axemen and it seems to have really gone to the extreme . So many safety violations and just stupid. It's like looking at a car wreck on the interstate you just have to look.

I sort of wonder if the T.V. networks float the bills for the fines.

I wonder if the networks have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for quality craftsmanship and safety.

They gotta keep the ratings up, right?

Spent a good portion of my life as a professional timber faller...I can assure you that this is a clown show. Makes me mad when I tell somebody that I used to be a logger and they say: "Oh yeah, I watch Axemen". All for ratings Jamin.

I think most of the content has to be staged.

No doubt about it or they'd all be dead... The absolute smoking gun on that one is from the last episode, where they "accidentally" dropped a saw from the skyline.. NOW if it was ANY OF US, we'd have put that saw on so there is NO WAY it could come off accidentally... the gimme on that was that the saw they sent to get dropped was 20 years older than anything they've used so far... thing probably didn't even run.. Funny to watch the crew leader pull a "Hendrix" on what was left of the saw..

And then of course there just happens to be a camera in perfect position to catch every rolling stone and dropped log/limb etc.. Just like WWE, if you know its fake and you still like it, go for it.. I prefer MMA and real challenges..

My Daughter made an astute observation about "Gold Rush" that certainly applies to "Axe Men" and the other reality shows too.

As they were whining about not making budget, going broke and the nightmares they all were facing in thier mines my daughter (15 yo) turned to me and said, "Why are they all whining, seems to me the History Channel is paying them some really good money to be on TV."

That's my Girl!

Yep, staged train wreck it must be.

Yup. Watched about 10 minutes before I went to bed last night and it is funny how the cameras are turned to where the "action" is always going to be.

I miss heli-loggers. Funny how it never lasted.

apparently this is not the case for all of these guys. i have a buddy that will be doing some mule logging on the show this season and being on the show is not a lucrative as you would think. they barely pay anything to start.

my co-worker was talking about it today, says it's really funny to watch.

i told him I'm definitely curious now to see it, but about 2 years ago I turned it off and said to myself that I will NEVER watch this show again when I saw how staged and fake it was.

The best way to protest, is never watch it, so that is what I am doing, even though I'm just one person.

I'm going to do my best to never watch it again.

If you look at the saw as they are hooking it up notice there is no gas cap on the saw... it had already been pillaged to fix another saw. Then look at what they said about keeping the saw close to the skycar, and look at the distance from the ground camera then the distance from the sky car camera. Staged... you bet. The wonders of film making and what you can make your viewerthink they saw.
