Anyone tried the new TreeAustria 3.2 saddle?

Hi D, I've been using the TreeAustria 3.1 saddle for the last couple of years and really like it! :)
There's nothing to fancy about the saddle and I really like the light weight of it. Just over 3lbs for the 3.1. I also have both the seat board and the suspenders. The seat board is nice but the suspenders I wasn't too impressed with. I still use them though. The saddle fits me well and is comfortable in most positions. There's more than enough attachment loops and over all i' am very satisfied with the saddle. The 3.2 looks like an improvement, sure to be a good saddle. Other saddles I would consider for the same price point is the New Tribe Onyx and the new Petzl Sequoia. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these. To bad you can't take them all for a test ride, figure out that personal preference.
What saddle are you currently in?

I've been looking at this saddle myself. Let us know how it goes if you get one. Looks like a well made saddle.

I sat in a one at TCI Expo last year. Every bit as comfortable as the 3.1 I have been using for two years with the added benefit of the stiffened leg straps. This will be my next saddle purchase.

I'm currently using a very basic saddle - the Petzl Navaho. It's incredibly lightweight, and fine for a short amount of time in the tree, but... I find that it doesn't stay put on my body - ends up at my ribs when I sit into it, likely because of the single "D" ring design. I've tried the Sequoia and the TreeMotion, and like the TreeMotion better. The TreeAustria 3.2 leg loops look interesting, and I'm hoping that it would stay adjusted better than the TreeMo - I guess a lot of people have issue with it coming out of adjustment.

The straps on the 3.1 will creep during a climb. Make sure you get the proper waist size. That will make a big difference. A bit more adjustability on the new version as well.

I have been a TA fan for 11 years. Been through two TA-Is, a TA-III, and still have a good TA - 3.1. All excellent saddles. I currently rock a TM cuz I got a deal on it, but I'm leaning towards the TA 3.2 for my next purchase. Super excited and can't wait to hear good reviews.

I love my Onyx & my Treefox. Both are comfortable and light weight. I would lend you one to try but judging from your avatar you might have to gain 40 or 50 lbs to fit into them, ha ha.

Dilles,

Just ordered the saddle. Next time they let me out in public will be ITCC. I will be at the work climb. If you show up Thursday afternoon I can guarantee you a trial. If you are not competing, I can arrange a run through of the event for you in the saddle. I know people! Bring your own PPE!

Tony - I'll hope to see you there if I don't already have one by then. What size? I need the smallest one...

Size one is the smallest. 28" to 32". I find the fit good for me with 31" waist. Gotta lengthen it out a bit in the winter. I wanna say because of more clothes, but the truth is more beer!

Look forward to seeing you. Please make sure to stop by as I rarely get a chance to leave once we get going with set up.

BTW I'll have books and a pen!

Bumping this cause I was wondering how you guys are liking this over the TM? My sequoia first gen is getting a bit rough and I'm looking at a new harness for the 2015 spring.

So, I ended up buying the TreeAustria 3.2, sight unseen. After talking with several people about the previous generation (all good), and seeing the upgrades, I went for it. This saddle is fantastic. Very comfortable, and at an affordable price.

Good for you, I sat in one the other day. It was super comfy and basic. I thought the upper suspension straps to be light weight, watch out for that handsaw. other than that it seem like the best saddle in that price range.

Hey Dilles,
I know this is an old thread but how have you liked the Tree Austria 3.2 long term? (1-2 years) Im looking for a new saddle and ive heard this is a super comfortable one but i also have read that its not the best when removals due too lack of holding bigger saws, Can you give me your opinion, and also, how well does the bridge hold up? are you getting the same for replacements or are you retrofitting with other options?
