Any difference in two Unicenders?

Yes- the rock exotica looks WAY sexier and that makes you climb faster.

That's makes sense.

It really does!

The new one is much more nicely finished, the first looked a bit like a prototype, which in a way it kinda was i guess.

I get a lot of aluminim oxide on my hands from the early non-anodized version, which for me was enough of a reason to grab a new one!

More than just being prettier, the connecting links and pins are totally different. They are now custom items. The originals had roller chain components and clip locks that were epoxied for safety. I like the fact that the new ones are riveted closed; probably no difference in strength to failure but it sure looks nice.

I can't add anything...I only have Morgan's versions to climb on. The functioning parts are the same, the rope contact parts, so the performance should be the same.

Re: My setup for SRT

I added the pulley with a sleeved bolt. I use it to advance a CMI rope grab with foot loop on my right foot, with a CMI pantin on the left. The alluminum link at the top is to advance the Unicender with my chest harness.

Re: My setup for SRT

OK...I sorta get it~~~

Is the turquoise line your bridge?

Can you post a pic of the lower portion?

Why use the swivel? It seems like just another link in a chain.

Re: My setup for SRT

I think the turquoise cord is used as a bungle for advancement of a knee ascender as used in the double bungee ropewalker system.

The swivel i'm guessing is so that even when in a precarious position he can rotate the handle of the uni so that its in an easy and comfortable position for use.

Amazing picture quality. Neat set up.

maybe it acts as a spacer to create a required length? because I suspect there is no need for a swivel in SRT, DdRT maybe...SRT...no.

Re: My setup for SRT

The biner on top of the pulley...? Looks like a no-no to me. Maybe I am not seeing it right. It all looks exciting and dangerous.
