Another Bridge failure

thank god i stayed away from the weaver brand cougar and bought the buck version. warp speed bridge is whats on it stock. i think to get around all of this is promote the liger mod. im gonna do it my next big check. where can i get the plates to do this mod? does luke sell them?

I tied a length of 7/16 climbing rope with buntline hitches and left on the stock yellow black non recalled bridge. I climb clipped into 2 bridges. I know, maybe over kill. But after climbing with a simple buckingham with butt strap and steel d rings for 15+ years I was never comfortable hanging off a rope bridge recalled or not. I am comfortable clipped into 2 though. You just need a bigger biner, or, I'm considering removing both bridges and putting in a proper size steel ring, or maybe 2, over both bridges. Then I'll just clip into the rings. I'm thinking 2 rings would be nice when using 2 tips. Other wise for the price the cougar is a good saddle for every day tree work.

I about due to change my bridge on my ergo and was thinking of using two bridges myself and putting a ring on both and using one for the anchor and one for the split tail..

I'll let you know how I like it, bet it keeps the biners from getting caught up.

I replaced my Ergo bridge with Velocity, have a 'large' size DMM green ring. I just told myself that I would put a new rope on the bridge every 6 months - even if it does not 'look' worn. Makes me feel safe.

The large ring works nice. I climb with the Hitch Climber pulley often. On little removals, I just clip in two biners for a split tail with Blakes Hitch. There is enough room in the large DMM ring for two biners.

p.s - It was weird to go from an old butt strap harness to a rope bridge, at first! I kept looking down at the rope, thinking... "is this going to hold me?" I got used to it.
