Air launchers, and pneumatic line lifting devices

Hello all, I am new to this forum, and love the ideas shared here. I have built launchers for a couple of guys on here, and found a few others that have stumbled across our launchers online. I have been building launchers for around 30 years, and have started a tiny company, J&J Multi Launchers, that has taken the basic sprinkler valve launcher, and went the next step, to custom valves, designed for air, our own line of custom trigger grips, and custom trigger buttons. Part of the reason I have went to the expense is to make my items safe enough to sell to the public, (it's illegal to use PVC with compressed or gasses) and not be 'off the shelf' parts, so that I can patent my launchers. That being said, this group doesn't need polished, and painted launchers, and I do have lots of parts and tons of old school sprinkler valve (non PVC, fiber reinforced nylon, HDPE, brass, ect) stuff than I can sell to folks wanting to build their own, and I can even build complete launchers for this. I have done launchers for fishing, surf bait casting, launching throw lines high into trees for pulling up ham radio antenna aerials, and even some for tree surveyors with the national forest service. So I wanted to put my name in the hat, and see what kind of 'buzz' I can generate here. Thanks for having me!

EDIT: links to pictures, available to anyone (even without an fb account)

Early Models - sprinkler valves, steel tanks, ect
Paintball, Airsoft Milsim, 40mm and 50MM, or 1.5" & 2" Ironically, shot bags fit these.
Revision 8, the transition from sprinkler, to custom parts. T-shirt, Golf, and trees.
Charity golf, long drive launchers Bigger, 1.75" barrel, max range
Revision 10, custom parts, and Certified chamber. Interchangeable barrels, the Multi Launcher.
And sadly- Failed designs and chamber failures and our upgrade program.
Basic push button launchers from $299

I want that red one!!!!!! Any videos up yet of these things in action? Oh, and by the way, welcome aboard!

(Edit) - just went to his Facebook link - some neat videos there. Cool!

Sweet! What kind of height with what weights can you get? Your multi launch, how many shots at how high?
Height is controlled by pressure, 100' is easy. Our largest ones do 12 oz soda cans or frozen bait slugs out 250-300 yards. That is pulling a 40# mono, so a heavier pull line probably won't go the entire 900 feet. Most of our regular multi launcher designs that have a bottom line for CO2, get one launch, at full power, (125-150 PSI) per ounce of CO2. All of our models, being operated at this low of a pressure, can be refilled for 'one fill-one launch' use with an tire, inflator, compressor, The Ryobi cordless inflator mentioned, and I may try to come up with a 'green gas'/propane/LPG inflator like one that I saw here!

See thse are the straight up numbers I like to hear. What does a 12oz soda can (full?) weigh?

Really simplified, a 12 oz can is just over 12 oz, like 12.56, or rounded up to 13 oz. It's like 355g of liquid, and 13-16g of can.

I edited my original post of my thread to include direct, public links.
Thanks!
You are going to have to do better than that. I can't find a price list or even how to contact you about options. I know that I'm not media savvy and might have missed them but I bet I'm not the only one.

Thanks, Frank. I have been setting lines with an APTA style launcher with a butterfly valve, 3' chamber and a 2' barrel with very good results. The long chamber allows for me to brace it against my hip to stabilize launch and a green laser helps with the aiming.
Your inline model with the pistol grip looks really clean, nice. What length barrel do you use? These things are so accurate and predictable that it is rare to need a second shot.

After spending 30 minutes setting a line this morning with a bigshot, this is interesting. Sadly I cannot launch an 8 oz ball 80' high, which used to be easy.

Not to take away from the content in this thread, but the archery trigger thing on a cam strap that Richard sells seems like just the ticket. If I used the big shot, I'd be using one.

A few people have messaged me about pressure requirements. With air launchers, you can get equal range, with lower pressures, if you have more volume. That is also easier and faster if pumping by hand. A couple members that bought some of our parts are achieving 100+ foot range with only 40-50 PSI.

I over answered the question, and created a 'buzz'. I am not making an launcher just for arborists. I make sporting launchers for extreme sports, and T-shirt launchers. I did invent and patent an aluminum 'air' version of previously only plastic 'water' valve. There was some interest in using that with existing devices, and of course, someone could convert one of my launchers for setting bags. The references to patents were for manufacture of my 'all new' and thus previously non-existing parts. Nothing tree related, nothing 'new and Improved' and no conflicts, citations, or claims of anything related to Arborists. Just that I now exist in more than my garage. Thanks.
