Achilles Tendinitis with Tree Climbing?

I think I have a mild case of it setting in. My left heal/lower achilles tendion feel as if they would snap if I were to sprint. Every day it feels sore/tight. It hasn't translated over to full out pain, yet.

I'm aware that rock climbers can get this too.

So, I'm getting a little nervous...Any one deal with this?

I have the same issue at the momment with my right knee. It doesnt full out hurt but I took the day off yeasterday to try and get a full three days rest from it. Ice and heat buddy!

Same here with the right knee. I've been compensating for it by using my left as much as possible. It seems to be getting better but the tendons are definitely tight now. It almost always feels like it needs to pop. My research shows that rest is the best solution. Good luck.

Be careful with that Achilles, it is not uncommon when they feel that way, if the problem is ignored, to go ahead and snap. I know a few people it happened to- acting up a bit, irritated, tight.....snap.

I haven't heard of Rolfing before. Interesting.

I'm first going to a Podiatrist, tomorrow It will be interesting to see what the X-rays find.

Weird. Before getting out of bed today, I stretched. When I walked on it, I had very little issues for most of the day. So, the light stretching helped.

I took today off and just driving somewhere (and sitting still for 15 minutes) makes it stiff/tight again. I look like a cripple walking out of the car for the first 30 seconds or so...

Resting seems to be the solution (to what I found as well). It's going to be odd for me to slow down.

Green tea, Jamin. Don't ask me how. The person I buy it from husband is a rock sculptor. Constant chipping with a hammer and chisel. His family actually farms green tea in Japan so I am buying good tea. Anyway after a week or two of drinking it I was totally free of joint and lower back pain. Give it a try. The supermarket green tea works too, I think, you just need to drink more of it. It is loaded with caffeine.
