A Tree Motion Question

Well, I'm finally getting the saddle of my dreams!!!! I've been drooling over a TM for quite awhile, and since the Cougar didn't work out too well (Even after numerous adjustments and attempts at making it work for me) I'll be picking up a TM in the near future!!! My first question is, where does the chain saw go??? I know it's on the back ring, but how exactly would you attach it to the ring. With a krab. It would seem it would get old after awhile, having to reach behind you and re-clip the krab onto the ring, and too unclip it. I was wondering if there is a space in the back for a caritool maybe, or how exactly does it work.

My other question. I know the TM comes with tubing to make your own accessory loops, but on here I saw shock cord into a spring or something. Any ideas which is better. Thanks

I would also like to add a big thanks to the treemagineers gang on designing one of the best saddles on the market. The one time I tried it on, and sat in it, it was amazing!!! Didn't even feel like a saddle, more like a comfy chair or something along those lines!!

Congrats on the treeMotion, ranger! I use my saws with a lanyard. I clip the end of the lanyard to the red ring with a triple-action krab. A wiregate krab sits closer to the side of the harness to hang the saw on. I use a couple of the spring locators and they work well for isolating gear that gets used most often. Otherwise my stuff hangs on loops.

Thanks alot TLHamel and happy birthday to you also!!!

Yeah, I'm so excited right now about getting a tree motion. Dad said I have to wait after pay day for our guys to order it, so sometime this weekend I should have the order in and it should be on it's way across the Atlantic by next week!!

Thanks for the saw help too. That's what I sort of figured, a lanyard on the red ring, then the saw sits closer to either the right or left side. Got confused though because alot of people on here seem to mention carrying the saw in the center back.

You can certainly carry it in the center... I just don't prefer it. A krab secured above, below, or slightly to the side of the ring works well if you want the saw centered. I tried using a triple-action krab for the lanyard at the red ring, then a wiregate near the saw (in place of the small ring). I would just clip the wiregate onto the red ring along with the trip-act. Alas, it resulted in too much clattering and confusion!

Yeah, I guess I do. Hopefully though, the TM will be the right fit and all will work out well for awhile!! (At least until a TM 2 comes out!!)

Don't forget the Sequoia!

Yep, just got quoted $150 for shipping, so wherever I buy from, I'll be paying more than $500 for a TM, so we agreed I didn't need to dish out that much cash for a saddle right now, so after talking with Sean over at Wesspur, it looks like a Sequoia is in my very near future!! (Plus, Sean is interested in the Cougar, so it may be quite sooner than I thought!!)

I have the petzl sequioa srt, with the suspenders. This has been the most comfortable saddle i have climbed in so far. And i have climbed in quite a few. I will say that the new saddles do have quite a few adjustments to help customize them to individual likings. This is a huge plus
