Hard to really understand what your asking. Can you try to explain a little better with some separate sentences?
Sounds like that company is down a climber and they want treeman1640 to fill in at least for now. The problem is he's not sure if they're a safety conscious crew that he would feel comfortable working with.
My thoughts are maybe this tree went right fubar and things went sideways and someone got hurt, maybe it's the first major problem they've ever had or maybe they are more know for having frequent accidents, I don't know.
If you really are nervous about them as a company pass it by politely and live to fight another day. On the other hand you could go out and give it a shot they may turn out great and with your head in the game it could be an awesome endeavour.
You always have the right to refuse unsafe work, that's an actual law, and if they really make your head spin and you feel in jeopardy you just grab your saddle, say thanks and walk away with your 2 feet and a heart beat still in tow.
If they aren't just hacks that would harm your reputation or safety what's one day to try it out and see that's really the only way to know.
