A really cool visualization of trees

Good share. I was able to watch most of it and have to say it was a throwback to my old ISA study manual with a bit better imagery.

I got interested in the narrator explaining how thin the “living part” is. When I describe the CODIT model to clients I go over those points. I usually get into that discussion when explaining why I prefer making numerous small cuts on the periphery vs. one large cut near the base. It gets fun with clientele that are switched on about their trees.

Maybe that’s how it works. Zombie wood touches live wood and turns it into more zombie wood. Another reason to be concerned about the overall birth rate so that live wood stays well enough ahead.
